The library at the Swedish labour movement's archives and library
We are a specialized library focusing on historical and social sciences, with a collection that reflects the history, theory, and organizations of the trade union and political labour movements.
Our printed sources include congress prints, minutes, annual reports, trade union publications, and newspapers and magazines from various socialist movements. Our literature covers a wide range of subjects, allowing us to be classified as a general social science library. Overall, we manage a cultural treasure of historical significance at both national and international levels.
Here, you can search for books, brochures, newspapers, and magazines. To access these materials, you need a library card. You can reserve the items you wish to use, with a maximum of two productions available per day.
Once reserved, materials are held for one week, and the loan period is 30 days. We handle all pickups and returns on-site.
About the Catalogue
Our library catalogue currently contains nearly 120,000 entries, with numbers steadily increasing. However, this is only a portion of our total collection.
While our catalogue can also be searched in Libris, please note that the two catalogues are not identical. Our library catalogue is always the most complete and up-to-date gateway to our holdings.
For a thorough search, you must visit our research office in person, as we also maintain older, non-web-based catalogues.
